What if Hitler had been a good guy?

Hitler could also have been a good working class man. Perhaps he'll end up as a janitor, cleaner, maintenance worker, cook, factory worker, electrician, or some other blue-collar job. Not everyone has to achieve greatness. Most of us won't end up in the history books and it's very possible Adolf Hitler could've ended up as a low-level worker for most of his life.

I wonder, is there a way to make him non-genocidal, but still a fairly rotten person who gets the top job? Genocide was the worst of what he did, but there was plenty of other awful things as well. Being someone who supports Jewish integration on an obliterationist scale might appeal to enough people, but it wouldn't play well with the 'there is a secret society running the banks and government, but don't mind the Jews'. I would say the majority of people classified as Jews were very patriotic to Germany. Having a more permissible attitude towards Mischlings (a filthy word, but so is any English word that could be used in comparison) would be enough for a large amount of partially ethnic Jews, but then it would go against his belief of Jews being a racial group rather than just a religious one. To be fair there were various Jewish ethnic groups around the world due to keeping away from integration or being refuse due marriage (same happening with other minority groups) but in Eastern Europe a lot of them spoke Yiddish and would perhaps be considered more similar to Germans. The Nazis needed a good scapegoat, and people hated Jews already, and this way loads of people got to steal their stuff and become accomplices. Now, if we want a less evil Hitler who still has a job, I expect there will still be pogroms, as well as purges of his own government, but that Eastern European governments will be set up when fighting the Soviets. Under German economic domination of course, as well as there being the highest rights to ethnic Germans in the area, plus the Germans get areas throughout the area annexed directly to Germany, while the Baltic and Slavic states get compensation by taking some Russian land. If we are going by the first post thing of Hitler getting inspiration from the Labour Party, we might see him focusing more on industry and less on agriculture run by German farmers.

Maybe a different way to ask the same question would be, "Could Germany still emerge under a National Socialist dictatorship in the 1930s with a less genocidal leader and, if they could, what would Europe look like as a result"?

To answer the original question, however, I think that the Germans likely either overheat the economy in the late 30s and early 40s without the war or risk a recovery perceived as too tepid with the Communists or Strasserists potentially gaining power as a result.

Here's some of what could have happened if Adolph Hitler had grown up into a much better person than in OTL:

1. Alt!Hitler either doesn't join the National Socialist Party of the German Workers or does it, but doesn't become its secretary. As a consequence, the party hasn't its political orientation shifted from far left to far right and, if it managed to get new backers after the Thule Society's funding dried up, it's quite possible Germany could have still ended up becoming a dictatorship in the thirties, but it would have been a socialist regime and probably caused an ahead of schedule Red Scare in France, meaning Mussolini's chances of creating the Latin Bloc would have gone up some;

2. Alt!Hitler is only as antisemitic as the average person of his time so, unless another dictator would have grown to hate them to the point of genocide, it's very unlikely the Final Solution would have been implemented ITTL. As a consequence, millions of Jews never die in the camps, but on the flip side the world isn't left in horrified shock by uncovering what the Nazis had been doing to them, so not only it's likely antisemitism would keep being socially acceptable to a degree for far longer, but the Zionists wouldn't get a massive amount of political capital at the right time for a State of Israel to be carved out of a soon to be formerly British Palestine.

but the Zionists wouldn't get a massive amount of political capital at the right time for a State of Israel to be carved out of a soon to be formerly British Palestine.
Too be fair, I think that the extra couple hundred thousand or million people who moved to Palestine helped more, as the most the British did was wash their hands of the matter. If zionists continue the terrorist actions (there were a few. I think there were specific groups, and not Zionist in general.) that happened against the British they may be seen negatively. I mention this because while reading through some propoganda I found a German book in English, which was criticizing the English and French in various ways. One of their things was claiming that Jews could shoot Palestinians, but that they boohooed over some bruises or broken windows. Obviously this was Nazi propoganda, but it would likely be continued even longer here. the propoganda, I mean. There was actually a group of Zionists the Germans supported, in the same way the Klan supported Marcus Garvey. For this Jews would emigrate to Palestine and they would be able to put the value of their property into credit, which would be used to buy German manufactured goods. Which might have actually been a better financial deal than a lot of Volkdeutsch groups got, as the Baltic Germans and those form South Tyrol had the value of their property paid by the Soviets and Italians to the German state, who then never gave it to the Volkdeutsch.

What do you guys think happen with the Volkdeutsch here, assuming that Hitler gets power. He fights to get them special rights? They were all over the place, and Saxons and Swabian had been in Transvlania and Banat for centuries. You guys think the fascist and general right wing regimes leave them alone? I expect the Volga Germans and other Reichsdeutsch in the Soviet Union still gets purges periodically, though as they are near an industrial area they might just be kept around as labor. The Soviets and communist states after WWII pretty much just kept Germans hey considered important to certain industries, and wouldn't allow them to leave. In comparison to the hundreds of thousands of Germans used as slave laborers for reparations. Also, something I like to bring up a lot, but Stalin and the Soviets basically ethnically cleansed the Finns, removing them and related groups from Ingrid, as well as snagging all the Finnish-Canadians and Finnish-Americans in the country. Then again, they did that with basically immigrant from North America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, or Southern Europe. Plus their diplomatic staff and people who came to work with a company. And an American who refused to list his nationality as Soviet for a world record in sky diving.

Heck, if we're going to fantasize about Hitler not becoming a genocidal dictator I'm going to choose to picture him taking up theater while a POW and becoming the world's greatest tap-dancer, the toast of Weimar Berlin's many kabarets who eventually takes his act to the United States where he features in movies with Fred Astaire.
