What if Francisco Franco was killed during the Cold War?

What do you think would have happened if Franco was killed during the Cold War rather than dying peacefully in his bed in 1975?
I know it depends on the period in which he dies, but could this cause an early end to the dictatorship in Spain?

As you said it depends on when is killed.
Prior to 1945:
-He could be killed by maquis (or any leftist partisan), monarchist or falangist. Then the ongoing WW2 will evolve to include Spain and if the Allies win the war Spain will return to democracy (probably a non-socialist republic, but the english may support a monarchy)
After 1945:
-The falangist party being well controlled, he could be killed by maquis (or any leftist partisan) or extreme-monarchist. The USA will support a rebellion on the country that implements a republic or a monarchy, but not necessary democratic (think at the good relations between USA and Morocco).
That's what I think...
Also (ASB) we can imagine Franco being killed on the '60:
-Killed by a communist plot, another civil war began, Spain being the scenario for the most important Cold War indirect battle. After 7 years of war, a democratic republic with a very social constitution is allowed to exist, and Spain post-second-civil-war recovery and social quest for peace makes the country a marvelous destination for the flower power utopists of all around the world.
