What if France was an allied power for all of WW2

France does not surrender to Germany in 1940 and no German occupation of France. It stays an allied power for all of WW2. What would you think could happen?

WI Metropolitan France is still occupied, but the majority of French armed forces and retreated to Morocco, Lebanon, etc.?
WI Free French Forces tell the Vichy French Gov’t to do something rude?
WI those colonies already had shadow factories to build ammo and spare parts for French weapons?
How many American-made Hawks would the French Air Force eventually fly? ..... how many Sherman tanks? .... etc.

Are you asking what happens if France beats back the German invasion here?

You have a serie of books about it called "France fights on" and of course, on this very site, you have the excellent "A Blunted Sickle"

They were an allied power for all of WW2, they just didn't hold the mainland. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_France
And they didn’t hold French North Africa, French Middle East, French Indochina, and most of the other French colonies either. Face it, Vichy France was accepted as the legitimate government by the French people residing in both the metropole and the colonies, all the way up until D-Day (or Operation Torch for some of the colonials). Anything else is just revisionism.
Edit: Now that I think of it, Case Anton probably destroyed a lot of Vichy’s legitimacy. But the point still stands.

The French still loose mainland Europe. If they allow Paris to be an open city then it is saved but if they don’t it becomes street fighting and the city is leveled. The campaign would of taken longer but at that point in time the French army wasn’t up to the task of fighting the Germans and the French government didn’t have the stomach for a fight. Having said all that if they didn’t give up then the bulk of her army could of been taken off shore by the French Navy to her colonies in Africa. This would of changed the fighting in Africa with Italy and I’m quit sure Germany did not want to comit large forces to Africa. Some say the French did not give up but there was the German puppet government set up in Vichy which controlled all the African colonies. As well Churchill would not of had to sink the French Navy for fear it would end up in Nazi hands. Bottom line the somewhat drawn out war with France could of delayed Germany’s invasion plans of the USSR long enough for them to strike first which was the plan. Thus changing Eastern Europe to the point that the bulk of Europe could of fallen to the Russians before the allies could get it together to fight for there piece as it where. If that didn’t happen then the Allies chunk of Europe would of increased. Perhaps meeting the Russians in Warsaw not Berlin. As the addition of the bulk of the French army would drastically of changed the timeline for the invasion of mainland Europe by the allies. So it’s a real roll of the dice would we end up worse or better off? You tell me ??
