What if everything Napoloen tried went exactly as planned?

How would the world look in the mid-19th Century, had Napoleon achieved all his goals (military. political, social) in the most effective way?

Like a Francophiliac Eurofed timeline gone into the ASB category.

I hate to sound nasty, but "everything" would be impossible. Preserving the French Empire at its 1805 (say) extent? Not necessarily, but that means he stops at some point.

:D:D:D

Additionally, you should define those goals! I am not sure if these might not have been conflicting anyways in some parts (e.g. the social ones, remember Napoleon being a revolutionary and the founder of a, err, of quite a handful of dynasties), making the fulfillment of all of them inherently impossible.

Also, I call ASB at this point. Napoleon was, often simultaneously, at war with Britan and Russia. Fulfilling all goals means he has to beat both of them decisively enough as to bound them into his French sphere of (European? Global?) hegemony. That is hard to imagine. Also remember, the man has a limited lifespan.

A prolonged French hegemony throughout Central Europe might be imaginable and very interesting, but all goals?

Let's say achieve the survival of the French Empire as it was at its maximum extent in OTL, or something close to it (maybe a Republican version?). And of course, lasting peace with both Britain and Russia.

Don't attack Russia and stop being belligerent to England.. tall order..
Have the French stop at the Treaty of Tilst..

Or maybe, what if everything he tried at the beginning of his rule worked as he planned, until it reached a point in which a Pax Napoleonica could be witheld.

You'd need something where the other states are able (based on his behavior) and willing to trust him, for starters - and not see him as endlessly ambitious.

Well, being a fairly smart cookie, Napoleon would quickly recognize the pattern and start testing the limits. About the time he "tried" building a ladder to the moon things would become difficult to predict.

The 1812 borders are too wankish already (especially in a republic, they would be far too multiethnic to work! I am not sure if French speakers would even be the majority there). The trap Napoleon laid for himself was the continental blockade. First of all, it didn't work, then it made him hugely unpopular in many regions and bore little benefit in comparison. Then it undermined the otherwise quite well working reign of Louis in Holland and led to the extreme annexations like Northern Germany or Illyria. And most importantly, it ruined the otherwise quite good relationship to the Tsar and helped lead to the war, which might otherwise have been delayed or prevented.

As long as there is peace with Russia, Austria (aligned by marriage and very cautiously led by Metternich) would be quiet. Prussia has been far too weakened to be a factor without Russian involvement.
Peace with Britain is IMHO the hardest part - but if Napoleon manages to find a solution in Spain, it will be harder for them to disturb L'Empire.

Maybe the key of the problem is Napoleon himself. I am not sure if his ego allows him to not provoke war every other year.

Its impossible - not because its ASB but because the things he tried later were the result of things that failed earlier

Thus, if he had achieved everything he wanted to in Egypt and Syria, he may well not have returned to France to become emperor, or if he did it would be in very different circumstances?

If he'd been able to defeat the Royal Navy and invade Britain in 1805, I doubt we would have got to the invasion of Russia and all the 1812 misery

etc

Best Regards

What does that mean exactly? The start would be a victory in Egypt / Palestine, and a victory in Haiti may be feasible, but then? Would he make an alliance with the Czar and go on to destroy the British empire? (And who'd get what in that case?) Or would he be successful with his invasion of Russia? Because both happening would be damn ASBish.
