What if Bo Jackson doesn't get injured/plays somewhere else?

Bo Jackson was a gifted athlete who played pro baseball and football. He put up very good numbers for about half a season each for 4 straight seasons in the NFL 1987-90. Sort of like Hall of Famer Gayle Sayers, who only played 6 seasons, was injured a bit for some of those, yet was superb when he did play, and made the HOF. Jackson came back to lpay on an artificial hip after 2 years of ijury rehab in baseball, but not in football.

First question: Was any other team looking at trying to draft him in 1987? If the Raiders don't would he still get fidgety and decide he needed a hobby? (Yes, he called footbal lhis hobby.) My thought is yes, if a team was close to the playoffs that year, he'd try to get to the Super Bowl, and stay for more years with that team. maybe he'd even start about the same time, after all, by the end of baseball season and the time he'd take getting in football shape the season would be half over.

Second question: Do you think, if he kept putting up 5 yards a rush for more seasons, he'd make the Hall of Fame in football? I'd say yes, but he'd have to do it for maybe 10 years or more total.

Thoughts?

Bo

I don't know of other teams that were looking to draft Bo in 87(although I wish my Broncos did. Dan Reeves thought of trading for the #1 pick from TB in 86 when it appeared that Bo didn't want to play there, but he didn't have the ammo). If the Broncos did draft him in 87, and he played a half a season with them, and helped them win the SB, maybe he eventually gives up baseball and concentrates on football more, especially since the team he played for, the Royals, didn't make the playoffs with him there.
