What if baseball is never banned in China?

Banned in the 1960s by Mao, lost a whole generation of players who moved on to other sports. Considering Taiwan's love of baseball, would China have players in MLB today with no ban?

There might be a few, but the Cultural Revolution strongly discouraged anything western. Even without an outright ban of the game, it's popularity will still wane somewhat due to its association with the United States. If it weren't banned it would probably maintain a cult following which could re-emerge after relations with the west are normalized, but baseball still probably wouldn't be as popular in China as it is in more pro-American countries like Japan and South Korea.

Now if you're asking how baseball would evolve in China without any Cultural Revolution at all, that's a different question. We'd basically be talking about a completely different country, so I'm not even sure where to begin in figuring out how their sports culture would be different.
