What if American elective monarchy?

What if the United States had a elective monarchy. Children of kings or queens would be able to run but wouldn't be garenteed.

The idea of a monarchy was suggested several times in early US history; it's not implausible. To copy an earlier post:
  1. Lewis Nicola proposed that George Washington become king; he of course declined the offer
  2. Nathaniel Gorham, the President of the Continental Congress, suggested to Hamilton that the younger brother of Frederick the Great should become king.
  3. During the Constitutional Convention, Alexander Hamilton proposed a plan that was all but in name, a monarchy. The president figure, the "Governor" would serve for life.

Very interesting.

  • Let's say the Monarch of the United States is elected by the Electoral College by 2/3 majority.
  • The Cabinet of the United States is presided over by the President of the Cabinet. All cabinet posts are approved by the House of Representatives.
  • The Congress is elected the same as OTL.
