What if America actually invaded Cuba after their revolution in 1959?

An OP should have a little more discussion; it should at least clarify the subject a little, and preferably offer some ideas or suggestions of your own, etc. Simply stating the subject and then leaving the post blank seems questionable to me.

Anyway, if what you are asking is what if the Bay of Pigs invasion used US troops (and in retrospect it is clear they would have to be used if the invasion were to succeed; air power would not be enough and the anti-Castro revolt in the cities that was hoped for was not likely to materialize), see my post at https://www.alternatehistory.com/fo...how-does-history-change.401299/#post-13416467 I don't think it is going to make Khrushchev start a Third World War, and I don't doubt the invasion would drive Castro from power, but it would be very unpopular in Latin America and could leave a very messy political situation in Cuba, with different anti-Catro forces fighting against each other (and continued terrorism and other forms of resistance by Castroites).

Fairly easy American victory, given the conventional superiority of American forces and the fact the U.S. Navy could, unlike with Vietnam, cut the flow of Communist logistical support from Day One.

I suspect that IF the invasion was early enough, before build up of Soviet forces in Cuba, that the USSR would simply use it as a propaganda item. " Another example of American capitalists crushing the people of an oppressed nation,"
That probably argues for an invasion in 1960.

Is this feasible?
