What if AFL sweeps the first four Superbowls.

In 1966, it was assumed that the NFL was superior to the AFL and the first two Superbowls seemed to bear this out. Most sports experts think Superbowl IV was the only one of those games where the AFL brought the superior team. But what would the long term effects be if the AFL team won nailbiters in I and II and then convincingly won III and IV.

What would be a good PoD and how would it be different if say, KC won 3 of them verses OTL where the original AFC contender won (KC twice, Oakland, and the Jets) .

First the Super Bowl trophy would have a different name.
Second the AFL/AFC would have won the first ten of the eleven Super Bowl with only the Cowboys winning SB VI.
I was trying to think of other possibilities that may have changed but the only remote thing I could think of is the Jets and Raiders not paying an indemnity for occupying 49ers and Giants territories.
The Browns, Colts, and Steelers would still have been transferred to the AFC and that was mostly about getting bigger television markets to the AFC network package.

I am pretty sure it was called VFL back in 1966, and despite cross-code work with Gaelic football it’ll be pretty hard to come up with combined rules for Australian and American rules handegg. But supposing it could be done I am not sure that American sponsors would back it, unless the CIA suddenly over committed to antipodean sports instead of white anting the Unions. So the best hypothesis would be that the CIA care to, and comprehend, that the back page news matters most in Australia. This could of course prevent the dismissal and Hawke prime ministership.

PoD thought of is Gale Sayers signing with the Chiefs rather than the Bears. Chiefs beating out Oakland for the AFL championship in Superbowl II and winning both.

The Hank Stramm trophy doesn't have the same ring.

EDIT: Instead of the Hank Stramm trophy, they could name it for Lamaar Hunt. The the AFL/AFC trophy can be named for another prominent AFL figure, say Al Davis.

I wonder if the AFL could have gotten any of its own rules passed into the NFL. Perhaps the two-point conversion would have been adopted sooner. Also a more widespread version of AFL defense styles would have been adopted, as it would be universally seen as superior.

But yes, the trophy is not called the Lombardi. Perhaps the Steam, the Hunt, maybe the Paul Brown. Not sure.
