What if 1973 oil crisis neeever happened

would the cars get bigger instead of small

The Big Four all had brought out a line of small cars, as import fighters.

Chevy: Vega
Ford: Maverick and Pinto
AMC: Gremlin
Plymouth: Cricket
Dodge: Colt

The last two were 'Captive' Imports, rebranded and reskinned

Without the Oil Shock, some would still have liked low cost, cheap to operate cars.

even the Horsepower Wars were coming to an end, courtesy of EPA and serious emission controls that started in 1971, and would increase in complexity each year from there

So all in all, Detroits woes would still continue from poor design and terrible build quality

Without the Oil Crisis of 1973 the US economy would overall do much better.

Would we avoid the worst of Stagflation? *shrugs*

The Wankel engine was being developed by General Motors at the time and might see more extensive use. The company was able to get emissions in compliance with EPA regulations, but ultimately the 1973 Energy Crisis resulted in the program being canceled. This also impacted the AMC Pacer program, as AMC had originally planned on purchasing Wankel engines from General Motors.
