What could the Seljuks do differently to win at Kose Dag?

The Seljuk Sultanate of Rum was one of the many successor states to the long disestablished Seljuk Empire. In its history, it was able to force the Byzantines (briefly) from Anatolia, and harry the Crusader Kingdoms in Outremer.

But for all the opponents they have faced, they were overcome by one great opponent. The Mongol Empire. The Seljuks suffered a terrible defeat at Kose Dag, from which they never recovered (although their decline could've started before this, it was this battle that actually showed it)

What could the Seljuks have done differently that could've given them a victory at Kose Dag (or an alternative)?

Not fighting the battle in the first place would have been the wisest course. And they could have managed not to provoke the Mongols into it, given the ample evidence that betting on military victory against the Mongols wasn't a healthy practice.

I dunno how possible it is, considering even if the battle did not take place, the Mongol's were still going to vassalize them (or diplo-annex them, I dunno which), and I think Kaykhusraw II would not be the kind of person to tolerate it.

Perhaps if his predecessor Kayqubad I still lived, do you think he'd try to avoid conflict with the Mongols, or would it not matter either way?

The kind of person whose reaction to Mongols demanding tribute is pride had better have a pretty damn good army.

...Yeah, something tells me that the question I initially asked is now stupid, as I now see that the Seljuks does not have that kind of good military needed to combat the Mongols. Yet I highly doubt that the Seljuks would accept being willing vassals.
