If somehow Churchill and Patton had gotten their way and the allies took their fight to the Russians to drive them out of Eastern Europe, what would have been that turning point?
Probably combat during the initial meet ups that isn't stopped. There were several clashes, but the Allied governments all brushed that under the rug to keep the peace. Say though if some ground commanders get into a dust up that escalates outside the control of higher command then maybe. Perhaps Patton picks a fight as part of it. It's hard to see that happening given the opinions of the politicians on all sides though. If somehow Churchill and Patton had gotten their way and the allies took their fight to the Russians to drive them out of Eastern Europe, what would have been that turning point?

Like I said, the politicians know things the generals didn't.The problem is that by that point the Americans have the atomic bomb and the British have easily weaponizable athrax and the Russians know it.
