Let's say Davey Crocket survived the Alamo. What was his future?
Some say he could have run for president.
Maybe a future governor?
What do you all think?
Well, he would have had a good chance to become President of the Republic of Texas at some point, and/or Governor of the State of Texas after annexation (assuming that still happens). Of course, a lot would depend on the circumstances of his survival of the Alamo. If he survived by "bugging out" and sneaking over the wall one night, or by refusing to cross the famous (and probably apocryphal) "line in the sand," then his political capital would be lower than it would have been if he somehow survived the battle itself, was taken prisoner, and then escaped to join the Texas forces at San Jacinto, for example.
