Since I was reading threads about a possible US-UK war in 1837, I began researching the technology and equipment both sides used. For the most part, equipment is pretty similar to that used during the Napoleonic Wars/War of 1812. However, while the French artillery (and therefore the US artillery with the exception of the 7.25-inch columbiad) of any period is well documented (see Valee system), I can't find any specifics on the actual artillery the UK used at all before the 1860's and the first rifled weapons.
Does anyone know what the British artillery pieces were in 1837? (field, siege and naval pieces) All I can find is that the British 6-pounders outmatched the French 4-pounders in the Napoleonic Wars- that's it.
