What are some alternate formal names for South Africa?

By formal names I mean like how South Africa today is formally the Republic of South Africa, while before it was Union of South Africa, IIRC. But what are other names formal names of South Africa? So far, I know of two from other timelines such as the Kingdom of South Africa, and the United States of South Africa. But, what are others that can fit the bill?

You could have The Peoples Democratic Republic of South Africa, The Peoples Socialist Republic of South Africa, The South African Empire, The Empire of Southern Africa, The South African Federation, The Federation of Southern Africa, The Commonwealth of South Africa, The Independent Republics of South Africa, The South African Economic Union, The South African Union, or it could even just be South Africa.

Natalia/Natal, Cape Africa or Cape Republic, Oranje, Transvaal, Stellaland, some Portuguese name in case they were the ones to colonise South Africa - Sulafrica, Cabo de Boa Esperanca, etc. off the top of my head

Transvaal for the whole of South Africa makes no sense. Natalia could work if that becomes accepted as the name for the whole southern tip, rather than just the south-east coast.

I was thinking since the river and the valley is quote significant to South Africa, the country is named after the river, in the vain that some people proposed Vardaria as an alternate for FYROM.

I don't think Capetonians or Durbanites would be happy being called Transvaalers...

Wouldn't the Orange River be more symbolic, then? Oranjerepubliek? Maybe a bit Free State-ish, but it's got a nice ring to it.
