What about the Channel Islands?

Was there ever, during the expansion of Bourbon, Revolutionary and Napoleonic France, any thought put into taking the Channel Islands?

Jersey was invaded (link), but guernsey which was valued more by the British because of the natural port wasn't but there was a massive fortification effort inculding the filling in of the braye du valle a channel between guernsey and a small island (north vale on a parish map of guernsey). This was along with 15 towers and several forts.

It would be cool if it some how the Dutch controlled the Channel Islands. Maybe during William III's reign, or during an Anglo-Dutch War.

That would be a cool Dutch Super power:

modern day netherlands + Flanders + channel Islands

Australia + Northern Brazil + South Africa + Celon + Indonesia

Maybe the channel islands just aren't that useful to anyone.
