Wettin Empire

I was thinking is it possible for Saxony, Poland-Lithuania and Britain to be ruled by a single ruler under the House of Wettin and I also think the Wettin who will be ruling Britain would be most likely a Jacobite claimant as well, would this stop Prussia from uniting Germany?

I have my doubts. Three countries would be competing with each other to be a centre of the empire: Britain, Saxony and PLC. Every country would want the king to reside in London/Dresden/Warsaw and keep interests of their country first. And in PLC the king had to be elected. And besides, did the Wettins have any relations to Stuarts to become Jacobite pretendents?

Via a dynastic marriage such as a Jacobite heiress marrying a Wettin but actually a Wettin maintaining the personal union between Saxony and PLC is interesting enough especially if they try to revitalize the Sorbian and Polabian languages.

Would they do that?

I COULD see the Saxon-Polish union continuing in that by the late 18th century there isn't really any other elective monarchy left, so the heredity principle could come into constitutional effect.

I think in hte first generation Poland would (re-)assert the elective side of things and bring about a new monarch. Religion would also be a big issue.
