What did WA want to secede for? Because being the rest of Australia's bitch is intolerable?

WA will find its relationship with Britain is worse, they won't get the same level of protection they'd get from being in the Federation but the political cost would be worse.

What precisely stops Australia from just marching a division into Perth come WW2, and annexing the whole territory back? Do you think England is going to give a single flying fuck? It has bigger fish to fry, and if the WA leaders were annoying enough, might actually encourage it.
