Wendish Nation

WI the Wends survived as a nation-state in the modern period. I know the POD could be virtually anywhere, but I'm thinking starting at a POD around the start of the industrial revolution, so about 1835. It'll get rid of Prussia obviously, so it will be quite interesting.

It might have something to do with the fact that in 1835 they were already gone, aside from like 15 Drevani in Lueneburg.

Oh, I forgot about the Sorbs. Just have a state for them carved out of Germany after a World War - either independent, or attached to Czechoslovakia and it later breaks away.

Or perhaps more of them are bothered by the religious and political changes occurring in Germany and up and leave. They are not beset by disease and they make their goal to reach the other German settlements (or have less stay behind). The preachers continue to use Sorbian longer due to a larger pool of Sorbs and the fact they have less access to English due to making it to German Texa. It'd also help if their soil was a bit more fertile, because that was the main reason they spread out and had their culture die. That might help them from dissolving as a culture.

I think Russia can carve Wendland out of Germany, the only question is the reason why they would do that.
