Weimar Germany-Soviet Alliance?

Historically these nations worked together until the Nazis came around and cut off the partnership. What is not generally known is that the Soviets actually were winding down the relationship prior to Hitler's rise to power. What if they actually maintained their partnership and Hitler doesn't come to power. Could they have worked together to reestablish the 1914 borders in the East? What of the reaction of the Allies?

Hmm - I kinda doubt the Germans would like an actual border with the USSR. Given how much crap the Nazis got away with OTL, I can see a Weimar Germany which had remilitarized and not got everyone's feathers ruffled by devouring Czechoslovakia getting away with a limited war against Poland to grab the corridor, and perhaps making a secret pact with Stalin allowing him to grab the solidly Ukranian and Belorussian parts of East Poland, leaving a rump Poland as a buffer. A lot of people would be shocked and outraged, but I don't think they'd start a war against both the USSR and Germany to restore the 1930-whatever Polish border.

Of course, an alliance with the USSR is going to be of decreasing value to Germany over time...
