Following the unexpected and fast Global Cooling, the Great Australian Asteroid Strike served to reduce the band of humans to a near perilious survival level. With the warming that, against all predictions, resulted from the aftermath of the GAAS the glaciers retreated towards the poles. Mankind moved out from the narrow equatorial band in which it had sought refuge and, with scientific aid, quickly increased in numbers.

Following the usual period of anarchy that appears almost obligatory in most post-apocalyptic scenarios, a Global Council was founded and this gradually exerted its influence and control over the planet. The remnants of humanity were united in the state of Ebolgeno ... and this is its flag.

Noravea

Following a disastrous Third World War, which left most of the western world immobilized, the US Northeast had quite a few cities survive to set up a new government in the desolate wastes of North America. Mayor John Cristobal of New York City transforms the city into his personal fortress in 2044, two years after the war ends. In 2051, he becomes the Supreme Leader of the United States after eradicating the surviving Federal Government in the Washington D.C. ruins, and places a claim over the entire former United States. While everything south of Washington D.C. and west of the Appalachian Mountains remains in chaos, under warlord control, desolate, or under individual small successor states, Cristobal claims the entirety of the continent divided into 42 individual states. The eagle adopted is a mutated Bald Eagle, which represents his chaotic rule. He only however has control over the area between Boston and Washington D.C., the two of which are in ruins, and runs his country from New York City, which itself is largely in ruins.

No, we call a meeting of the Vexillian Electors to elect a new King of the Flags, who will then proceed to Flaggia to be crowned Holy Flaggian Emperor by the Flagpope. It's all very prestigious and fancy.

Here's my entry. The white represents Sardinia, the green the generally Muslim population of North Tunisia. Although they have been bitter enemies in the past, the flag depicts Sicily (yellow, Sicilian Triskelion) drawing the two from separate entities to one nation, working in harmony, whilst also asserting Sicily as the leader of the kingdom, as their segment is the only one touching the hoist.

The flag of the United Sicilian Republic upon the ascension of "Capo" Lupo Pastore to power. The triskelion represents Sicily, and each arm of the triskelion represents one of the three main parts of the USR: Sicilia, Sardegna and Cathago. The red and gold stripes represent the country's Aragonese history. The colours red, gold and white are the colours of the flags of its constituents, and the blue represents the Mediterranean across which the country is located.
