Weekly Flag Challenge: Discussion & Entries

Looks like we're getting quite a few entries right off the bat this time around!

It was quite difficult coming up with something that would both make sense and look interesting, and my lack of knowledge about the topic certainly didn't help.

From what I read, I wouldn't be surprised if an actual Menshevik Russia just kept the white-blue-red tricolor with a red star added in somewhere. While that would be fine for a TL about victorious Mensheviks, it's a bit too dull for the flag challenge. That being the case, I figured I'd do something similar but somewhat more fancy.

The Union of All Russias

Following the worldwide economic crash of 1930 the socialist parties were discredited and a coalition of nationalists swept to power.
Alexander Korolev consolidated his position creating a single party state under his All Russia party with himself as Supreme Governor.
The flag is reminiscent of the Tsarist regime. It consists of a white star on a black star on a golden background

People's Republic of Russia

The People Front of All-Russia was, in later years, credited for both reining in its more radical elements while still managing to enhanced the people's freedom and quality of life by reforming rather then catastrophically destroying the institutions of tsarist Russia has some had proposed.

Yeah, download issues. I'm gonna try taking off a usb instead when I remember to bring it with me!

EDIT: well that didn't work since USBs are blocked too. I doubt I'll have this up before the end of the challenge so feel free to ignore my entry if so.

THE RUSSIAN CONFEDERATION

After the final defeat of the Bolsheviks and the various ‘White’ Armies, the Socialist Republic of Russia was declared. Its first official flag was a large, central red star on a white background. During the Second Great War, there was widespread criticism of a flag that was mainly white and eventually a new flag was adopted as below. Upon adoption of the new constitution of 1963 the nation became simply ‘The Russian Confederation'.

FLAG CHALLENGE № 128: An Ameriwank State Flag

The goal of this challenge is to create a banner for a state (of any continent) a Ameriwank, joining elements of chosen state and United States. Can also follow coats of arms, but the divisions must be "respectable" (maximum a state with 60 to 80 million inhabitants) and may not be in current US territory (including Puerto Rico and the territories Pacific).

U.S. State of Turkistan
After the Sino-American War of 2025, China became a territory of the US. As time went on, the territories were divided up and the most loyal became full-fledged states. Xinjiang and Yunnan were admitted first, while Tibet was freed as it's own nation. After the breakup of the Neo-USSR, the USA was able to also take over Central Asia. It soon merged with Xinjiang to create the state of Turkistan.

Not sure I understand, you mean "a US-like entity within an Ameriwank timelline that is not the USA" or "a subnational state within a larger USA that is not a current member of the US" ?
