PoD:
The allied invasion force for D-day is hit by a ferocious storm just after the first wave has landed - a storm of the type that wrecked one of the Mulberries in OTL Late June 1944.

Does the storm arrive before or after Omaha has cleared the beach? And before or after 21st Panzer attacks?

Before Omaha is cleared - most of the allied landing force is still at sea. I don't recall at the moment when 21st attacked, but as the PoD is early I guess this is before any OTL counterattack.

BTW wasn't 21st PzDiv the one where Hans von Luck was regimental commander? IIRC he in his memoirs describes how 21st waited for an order to counterattack that never came.

Oh boy... there are going to be ships swamped everywhere... and I'd say Omaha would fail in the end. The paratroopers may be lost too.

Agree

I think that we would have been totally screwed. DDay would have been postponed at least a month. I think that if the invasion had failed in Normandy the main invasion of France would have been in the South of France. After all, the invasion of Italy was still going on. The invasion of Corsica and Sardinia probably would have been the logical step before the invasion of France.
