Wayna Capac (also spelled Huayna Capac) was the son of Tupac Inca, and the leader of the Incas just before the arrival of Europeans. He led the conquest of much of Ecuador and established the Incan stronghold of Quito. In OTL he died in one of the first smallpox epidemics to come to South America in 1527. In TTL he doesn't. For whatever reason the disease hits him, ut doesn't quite kill him.
So, when Pizarro comes in 1532 down tho coast of South America what does hi find? First he finds large groups of Inca soldiers on the northernmost part. They (or some villagers) likely the direct the foreigners up one of the many mountain roads to behold a startling site. A fortress city built on top of one of many mountains filled with gold and silver. When they enter they are greeted by what appears to some sort of Emperor. From here I'll let you guys talk about what happens.
The Empire is much much much stronger then in OTL. In TTL the empire has basically stopped growing and is currently flourishing after years of peace. The northern tribes are currently peaceful and the center of the Empire is gradually becoming more and more "Incan". The only dark blot is the strange series of plagues that have wrecked the nation (Smallpox).
A few questions:
-How does Pizarro react? Unlike in OTL even if he grabs the Inca he will lack any major Inca allies and have only the local tribes to help him.
-Do the Incas present a stronger front when Spain comes a knocking?
-How would Wayna Capac deal with the weird babblers?
