Waterloo without Wellington

I was just reading how after the British lost the Battle of Lake Champlain in September of 1814 and General Prevost retreated his army back to Canada, Wellington was offered the position of General in Chief in North America. He turned it down, but suppose he had not? Perhaps he gets involved in wrapping things up there after the peace treaty and isn't in Europe when Napoleon escapes from Elba. So who commands the army in Belgium and how well does he do against Napoleon?

Would it really matter? By that time Nappy was pretty much doomed.

Don't think Wellington's absence would change much. Even if Napoleon won at Waterloo, he almost certainly would've still lost the war.

Blucher say hi and he can stop nappy in another less famous belgian town

Well, if Napoleon wins at Waterloo that does mean Austria and Russia might get more influence when they inevitably swat him, so this could mean Metternich's plan (Napoleon II, Marie Louise as regent) could be implemented; Alexander certainly wasn't opposed and the British were the only ones who were serious about the Bourbon Restoration.

As others have said, not much would have changed regarding the Napoleonic Wars to compared OTL, since Napoleon was already doomed by that stage.

For Wellesley / Wellington personally, it would have been a poor career move compared to OTL.

Instead of being a hero of the UK and Europe, a future Prime Minister, and a major historical figure of his time, he would be a military commander in a backwater and would fade into obscurity (although probably would live a comfortable life in retirement).
