What if Nixon had lost the election, and then watergate was investigated? If he wasn't Prez, how would he, and the american people react?

Probably less earth-shattering as it would be becoming old news, carried out by a guy the people didnt trust enough to re-elect

On the other hand theres more chance he could be jailed for it
