Vault-Tec Canada Advertisement, circa 2075

After the United States annexed Canada many American companies flocked to capitalize on a now defenseless Canadian Economy. Vault-Tec was one such company, whether or not they made Vaults on Canadian soil is lost to history. However Vault-Tec would never let an opportunity to turn a profit go by.

(P.S. This is Charles Schulz, creator of Peanuts. People in the Fallout universe's current time of 2296 don't know of newspapers, Peanuts, or Charles Schulz. Yes I do know people don't live that long but I like the idea of someone being un-natural with the man being known as simply, the immortal artist)
(Anyways, how do you feel about the special story I made for Schulz/The Immortal Artist? I chose to include him as it would look nice to see someone who is from the world before the bombs and is still living, so I chose Schulz. And if you wonder, yes the radiation resulted in what would resemble the Peanuts characters, personalities and all!)

Some more films from the late 20th Century and early 21st Century.

The 1990s children's action film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Based on the 1984 comic by Mirage Studios, four pizza-loving humanoid teenage mutant ninja turtles mentored in the art of ninja combat by the wise rat Splinter emerge from the shadows to protect New York City from a gang of criminal ninjas and their leader Shredder.

The film ended up spawning two more films, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, and a 2007 animated movie simply titled "TMNT" which is short for the name of the original film. During the 2050s, plans to revive the series were in the works, but never fully realized due to the Sino-American War and the Japanese-American split, later though a new brand of comics were being published but only two volumes were completed by the time of the Great War.

The 2000 slasher film American Psycho

A wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, is handsome, well educated and intelligent. He is twenty-seven and living his own American dream. He works by day on Wall Street, earning a fortune to complement the one he was born with. At night he descends into madness, as he experiments with fear and violence. He must hide his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.

While not the most famous of slasher movies of the New Millennium, it did help to inspire other works of cinema in the following decades before the Great War, such as
"A Man and His Dog", "Communists From Space!!", "Another Day in the Monster Factory", "The Barfly", and "Night of the Fish Men's Revenge".

A pre-war poster made by the anarchist/secessionist militia known as the Free States at their headquarters in Harpers Ferry, which primarily consisted of Appalachian residents and survivalists. The organization existed from before the bombs fell, up until 2102 when a large majority of them were wiped out by the Scorch Plague.

There are no bunkers! Switzerland just built a large dome surrounding the entirety of the country that is nuclear bomb proof and they painted the inside of the dome like the normal sky so people don't get scared.
Well that's just lazy writing LOL. It's impossible to build a dome around the whole of Switzerland, According to the Federal Office for Civil Protection, at the end of 2022 Switzerland had some 9.3 million spots in nearly 370,000 shelters – including 9,000 public bunkers – for around 8.7 million inhabitants. So yeah there are fallout shelters in Switzerland and I'm going to assume that they did exist in the Fallout world.

One of Switzerland's many underground bunkers in the heart of the Alps being constructed as part of a Civil Defense project by the Swiss Government, a testament to a nation's dedication to preparedness and protection before the Great War of 2077.

By 2050, the Swiss government was confronted with geopolitical tensions between America and China, the European Civil War and the looming threat of nuclear holocaust. Bold steps were taken to shield the people of Switzerland from any foreign threat, in which a vast network of bunkers were constructed across the Alps of the country. The Swiss Civil Defense placed bunkers across the nation, nearly 370,000 shelters – including 9,000 public bunkers – for around 8.7 million inhabitants, all placed in strategic locations and connected via underground metro systems and suspension trains as a way to ensure maximum coverage and accessibility. The rugged terrain of the Alps became a strategic alley is it offered a concealed and secure protection for the bunkers. And just likes the Vaults in America, some of the bunkers were designed to be not just as shelters but as temporary havens, they were outfitted with essentials that would ensure that citizens can endure any sort of crisis.

When the Great War took place on October 23rd, 2077, countless people from all over the country sought refuge in these bunkers, despite Switzerland not being hit by China or Russia, fallout from the nuclear blasts that happened outside the country would inevitably be carried towards it. And so for next few decades the people of Switzerland readied themselves for when they would reemerge, which eventually came on New Years Day of 2097 when the blast doors of all of the bunkers opened after 20 years and the Swiss people would venture out into the countryside and empty cities to begin rebuilding their lives and their nation.

Nice! So unlike the US, most Swiss people survive the Great War?

Alternative suggestion: the swiss linked up and widened all their existing bunkers until they'd created a perfect recreation of Switzerland right underneath Switzerland

Well considering that it's a small country and that it wouldn't go through much during the Great War lot alone the European Civil War (except for maybe housing refuges from the conflict), I think Switzerland could ride out the storm. What do you all think?

A group of USAF B-57 jet bombers flying on a reconnaissance mission over the South China Sea during the summer of 2077.

The twin-engine tactical bomber and reconnaissance aircraft was based on a similar design that entered service with the United States Air Force back in the mid 20th century. The B-57 is a license-built version of the British English Electric Canberra, manufactured by the Glenn L. Martin Company. Entering service in 2057, it first saw action during the Annexation of Canada where it was used to bomb Canadian Insurgent targets in British Columbia.

American troops arriving in Quebec, ca. 2075.

As resources across the globe began declining, a resurgence of nationalism emerged in Quebec. Riots, protests, and even terrorist attacks occurred in the region. In 2062, a referendum was held in Quebec, which it narrowly voted to stay in Canada. When American troops crossed the border to defend Alaska from the Chinese, Quebec became the largest hotbed of American resistance in the entire country. American units not meant for Alaska, or eventually, the Pacific Ocean and mainland China were sent to crush Quebecois resistance, along with the general Canadian resistance. The United States had annexed all of Canada in the 2070s but promised the Quebecois that an independent Quebecois state would be formed once the war against China was over. However, the United States had no plans for this, as, along with the rest of Canada, the United States planned to turn Quebec into a state. Ultimately, despite some groups in the Wasteland declaring otherwise, the dream of an independent Quebec died along with the rest of the world on October 23, 2077.

My take on Switzerland in the Fallout universe

SwissArmyAlps-1.jpg

Swiss army units scouting for enemy positions in the Alps, ca. mid to late 2060.

Switzerland had been neutral on the world stage since the end of the Napoleonic Wars. However, as the clouds of the Great War began looming, the Swiss had been calling for every nation to reach some sort of understanding to prevent an all-out war. The country was neutral during the Euro-Middle Eastern War, although it was due in part because it wasn't part of the European Commonwealth. The country had also called for ceasefires between the Europeans and Middle Easterns during the last meetings at the United Nations. Switzerland was one of the last nations to leave the United Nations, as it left the UN when it was dissolved in July of 2052. However, despite its neutrality on the world stage, Switzerland wasn't immune to the global resource shortages. The Swiss had to deal with riots, protests and attempts at military coups. A coup occurred in 2060 following the end of the Euro-Middle Eastern War. The newly formed military government had annexed Liechtenstein and moved troops into Italy and Austria to "secure ourselves from invasion." However, the regime's successes didn't last long, as the Second Italian Social Republic (Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol) and the Fourth German Reich (Bavaria and Austria) had reclaimed the lost territory. In 2066, as all eyes were on the Chinese invasion of Alaska, Switzerland was annexed into the Reich, the Italian Social Republic, and the self-declared Sixth French Republic (parts of northeastern France). The atomic bombs didn't hit former Switzerland on October 23, 2077, as all sides saw it as a waste, although the former nation was in ruins for the foreseeable future, with no signs of rebuilding.

Riot in Belafest during the Second Irish Civil War, ca. mid to late 2069.

As the European Commonwealth was falling into anarchy in the 2060s, the Irish government, in a desperate bid to prevent a coup attempt or a violent uprising against the government, invaded Northern Ireland in late 2060 to appease Irish Nationalists. However, this decision would start what many would call the Second Irish Civil War, as the Irish government had to deal with British Unionists in the north while the rest of the country was a battleground between the government, Fascists, Communists, and general rioters and protesters. The United Kingdom would have supported the Unionists, as the British Prime Minister threatened Ireland with an invasion if they didn't withdraw. In reality, the UK was using Northern Ireland as a casus belli to distract the general population from its problems and to satisfy some fringe factions in the government wishing to reform the British Empire. However, the UK dealt with its own problems during the Euro Civil War, such as successionists in Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall, Fascist, Communist, and Republican guerillas, and general protests and riots. Because of this, the UK wasn't involved in the Second Irish Civil War. The Second Irish Civil War came to an official end on October 23, 2077, when the UK launched nukes on Ireland in the vain belief that the reconquest of the nation would be made easier. However, these plans never came to fruition as the UK was hit by the bombs as well.

In ruins for the foreseeable future? with no signs of rebuilding? Captured by German rebels? Come on man how is that even possible?
