Specifically on issues pertaining to international stability, economics and diplomacy, do you think Imperial Great Britain was a better global hegemon compared to the current hegemony of the US?

If yes, do you think the world would be in a better state had the UK retained is Hegemonic status up until today?
 
As far as I'm aware the US isn't holding hundreds of millions of people in colonial bondage and didn't invade a nation twice because it tried to ban the sale of heroin. So no.
 
I'm fairly sure we acted just as selfishly as the USA has, so no. 'Better' is a fairly ridiculous term in this context anyway. Any nation that becomes a global hegemon is probably not the kind of nation you want to be in a role of global hegemony, tbh.
