After Scipio fought Hannibal at Zama and culminated the Second Punic War, it strikes me that the Roman domination of the Mediterranean would become inevitable, and that no future wars would undo all the progress Rome had made. What I wish is to be proven wrong on: Rome's rise between 200 and 27 BC was inevitable, and to see a continuation of such independent cultures and regional powers such as Antigonid Macedon, Sparta, the Seleucids, Parthia, Ptolemaic Egypt, the Celtic, Illyrian, Hispanic and Thracian tribes, etc.
