As a point of fact, corporatism does not mean corporations ruling instead of states; it means group interests are represented in the state in a corporate manner. Instead of politicians attempting to represent voters who may or not be laborers, an idealized corporate state will have an organ specifically for the purpose of representing labor. Capital generally and specific industries would have their interests represented for the state, as would the religious authorities, minorities, and so on.
