I was reading yesterday about christian persecutions during second and third centuries and while there were several reports of persecutions in the East (which is natural since christianity came from the East) and in the West in Italy and Gaul.
However reports of perscution in Hispania and western Numidia were rare despite the fact that christianity was already spread in Hispania...
Plus whenever christians were persecuted in these areas their treatment was milder than the Eastern provinces...
Was Hispania a safe heaven for christians? Or there is ssomething wrong with the reports?
