Warworld -> Phalanx v Impi

I am reading the War World Series over on SOL.
The Author is setting up a Zulu Impi v a Roman Phalanx situation.

So given the Zulu head of the Bull with the surrounding Horn, v The Roman Checkerboard, ?Who Wins?

?How about the Zulu Impi v the older Greek Phalanx?

I think the Zulus had too light equipment to face off the heavily armoured units of the Romans and Greeks to win. They had weapons but armour and syuch was seriously lacking.
Tactically it depends on which phalanx you are talking about.
For example, the really old phalanx would get surrounded, and possibly destroyed, though as I said, their equipment was better.
However, the newer Theban and Alexandrian phlanxes would easily hold back thew back the wings and launch a punch that would throw the Zulus into disarray.

?How about the Zulu Impi v the older Greek Phalanx?
If just the phalanx things could end badly for the greeks (Zulus get at the flanks and do serious damage before the Greeks smash the section of the Zulus coming head on... though, the better armour of the Greeks may mitigate agains this to a degree). In practice, unless you're talking about a Persian wars or earlier vintage phalanx you've also got various forms of skirmishers and cavalry covering the flanks... in which case the Zulus' attempted envolpment is less likely to work and then the phalanx will rip the center of the Zulus' line to shreds.
