War in the 2000s

What would be cool is if we had a compilation of scenarios involving flashpoints that aren't necessarily World War III/nuclear war in terms of scale. It'd be like a more modern version of this book.

What TLs are there besides Northern Storm? On this forum, at least.

Thanks for the mention :)

I believe somebody did a EU vs Russia one. It ended with a political settlement since neither side wanted a war. There was little U.S. participation in the conflict.

Well, Georgia joins NATO before 2008, Russia attacks similar to OTL, and NATO declares a case of collective self-defense, triggering a war between Russia and NATO. The question I've been wondering on there though is, if Georgia was a NATO member already, wouldn't this make the Russians think twice about such an action (after all, most NATO members are also EU members, and also the Russian's biggest trade partners). I think, Russia explicitly attacked Georgia as long as it wasn't inside NATO. Still, you might give such a scenario the benefit of doubt, so it might be doable (sort of similar to the Spanish-Moroccan War). ;)

I love that book, the ballistic missile bombardment and TBMD defence of Israel is cool. Shame they cop it in the end.

Maybe an isolated USA after September 11 against Europe could be a possibility.

Another more slightly more realistic war could be Greece against Turkey, a starting point could be easily found (in the 1990s).
