(I posted this in the test forum and received no replies, so I thought I'd have a better chance here)
I've recently had growing interest in Cold War era history, and I've started to read up on some events I found striking during that period, namely the martial law over Poland, and the NATO/Warsaw Pact war game scenarios. My question is, what would have happened if the Kremlin had chosen military intervention in Poland, rather than leaving Jaruzelski to impose martial law? And given Jaruzelski's separatist attitudes towards the Soviets, is it reasonable to say he could have been considered a threat to Moscow?
