In researching another post, I found that that the future George II was nearly KIA at Oudenarde in 1708 (horse killed under him). His son Frederick had been born in 1707. Assuming no other effects (Ha!) that means Frederick succeeds his grandfather George I in 1727 as a boy of 20.

Walpole was very dominant in the government OTL, with George II pretty much letting him run things.

But young Frederick should be even more pliable. Walpole would be IMHO a de facto regent for several years.

Would this lead him to overreach; make too many enemies; fall from power sooner?

Of course this also changes the history of Frederick; OTL he attacked Walpole as part of his quarrel with his father the King. ITTL he is King; does he rebel against Walpole's tutelage, and "Drop the Pilot"?
