In addition to Spain, if the germans commit to the Japanese earlier, they might be able to use china as a testing ground starting in 1937.

Problem is, China is bad tank country as well. Too many rice paddies for tanks to fall into. Too many cities and shitty roads as well.
That's why there were zero tank battles in China, despite there being 8 years of war from 1937 to 1945.
