It's September 30th, 1939 and the Wermacht are mopping up the conquest of Poland.
Hitler, ever confident, summons his top military generals (Gudarian, Boch, Mainstein, etc) and orders them to immediately start preparing for a winter offensive in France.
Set to start next month.
His generals laugh and beg Hitler not to go through with it, eventually cajoling him to relent. Instead preparations for a Norway, Denmark invasion are drawn up.
But.....
What if Hitler had over-ruled hisgenerals and went through with a French Offensive in November or December of 1939?
Basically, what if the Battle for France occurred in 1939?
Following the exact same plan drawn up in 1940
A strike into the low countries coupled with a massive armored thrust through the Ardennes Forest.
*************
1. Could the Nazis have knocked France out a whole year earlier?
2. Would the Germans be tossed back, initiative lost?
3. Would Britain be more cajoled into sueing for peace if France collapsed in 1939?
4. Based on whatever your thoughts are, what are the long term ramifications?
Bonus + Bonus Points if mention the military options for a winter campaign for the Nazi or French Side.
