Voting Record: Primary Edition

How would you have voted in the modern presidential primaries since 1960? No write-ins. Bold your answers. My Democratic ones, except the first three and Bill Clinton, are for Rovian purposes only...

Note: These are by number of primaries won, due to nomination procedures before McGovern-Fraser.

Here's how I would have voted in the modern primaries:

DEMOCRATIC

1960: John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Stuart Symington, Adlai Stevenson
1964: Lyndon Johnson, George Wallace*
1968: Eugene McCarthy, Robert Kennedy**, Humphrey surrogates, Lyndon Johnson
1972: George McGovern, Hubert Humphrey, Henry Jackson, George Wallace
1976: Jimmy Carter, Henry Jackson, George Wallace, Mo Udall
1980: Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy
1984: Walter Mondale, Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson

1996: Bill Clinton
2000: Al Gore, Bill Bradley
2004: John Kerry, Howard Dean, John Edwards,
2008: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama

1972: Richard Nixon
1976: Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan

2000: George W. Bush, John McCain
2008: John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani

* I would have wrote-in Senator Eugene McCarthy, but you said no write-ins, so I didn't bold anything because I wouldn't have voted for anyone else.

** I'm bending the rules just a little bit, because 1968 was a little bit confusing for me; I would have voted for Nixon in 1968 as well as 1972, because I didn't like Hubert Humphrey or George McGovern, but I would have voted in the Democratic primaries in 1968 because Robert F. Kennedy was campaigning. If RFK had been the Dem nominee in '68, I would have voted for him and not Nixon, but since he was assassinated and Humphrey was the nominee, I would have voted for Nixon.

Whereas for me the opposite of Dude's '68 rationale. Vote for RFK in the Dem primary, Nixon in the GOP primary, and probably Nixon in the general. Why? Vietnam, and Republicanism in general. Hypothetical '76, vote RFK in the general, GOP on the rest of the ticket. IOTL, Nixon all the way.

1992: Bill Clinton, Jerry Brown, Paul Tsongas

2008: John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani (I voted for Ron Paul).

2000: George W. Bush, John McCain
2008: John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani

You forgot ALOT of the '08 Democratic primary candidates, including the one I voted for, Mike Gravel.

Honestly in most of these elections I'd have likely voted for an independent or third party, actually, while I did vote in the Dem primaries for Gravel as I said, I voted for Ralph Nader in the presidential elections.

Finally, my favourite ATL '76 scenario... RFK lives, loses to HHH, Nixon clean sweeps 538-0 in '72, no Watergate. I'd vote Dem, then GOP for the rest of the ballot.
