Is there anyway for von Blomberg to stay on as CoS armed forces?
OTL he was gullible enough to trust Goering with details about his new fiance's past as a prostitute when seeking permission to marry, which was used against him. Goering's death might help, but I am not so sure. Still Blomberg was competent and willing to stand up to Hitler; it would benefit the Heer to keep him on. How can we make this happen and what does it mean for the war?

"In 1935, the Ministry of Defense was renamed the Ministry of War; Blomberg also took the title of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. In 1936, the loyal Blomberg was the first General Field Marshal appointed by Hitler. Unfortunately for Blomberg, his position as the ranking officer of the Third Reich alienated Hermann Göring and Heinrich Himmler, who conspired to oust him from power. Göring, in particular, had ambitions of becoming Commander-in-Chief himself. After the Hossbach Memorandum meeting of November 1937, Blomberg was one of the few who criticised Hitler's plans to go to war no later than 1942, much to Hitler's displeasure."

The details of his wife’s past would have come out anyway, his opponents were digging for dirt; there is no way they would have missed that.

His opposition to Hitler’s plans would have meant that he’d have inevitably been forced to retire.

So maybe he doesn't meet the girl? Would that be enough?

I think he’d have been required to retire for ‘health reasons’ if nothing else was available. Don’t misunderstand me here, he wouldn’t have been killed; but his opposition to Hitler would have meant that his retirement would have been engineered somehow.
