violent canadian independence

Would most Canadians consider violently leaving England after the War of 1812? The US made it very obvious they wanted Canada or at least large chunks of their land. Unless and this is very unlikely England become Teh Evol Canada gains a lot more than staying with England than worrying about a US invasion or Quebec civil war after they possibly win. Canada got most of the advantages of independence anyway with the advantages of being part of England.

Britain! Not England! The first Canadian PM was born in Glasgow!

No, this does not contribute to the topic, but I had to say it. Zyzzyva has time-travelling republican Toronto. I have vanishing Scotland.

Sorry, that is basicly why I didn't say Great Britain because offhand I couldn't remember when Scotland and Ireland got officially added to the country.

Three centuries ago, as far as Scotland is concerned. This means that you'd be more justified in offhandly referring to Italy as "Sardininia", since Italy was unified way after GB.

And yet for some reason nobody ever does... some might argue that England is far more dominant than Sardinia-Piedmont, buts thats only in crude population terms. Scotland is much more important.:D

Also, Scotland was never got added to nuffin'. Otherwise we'd be Scotlandshire, England. Scotland and England united into a greater whole.

And now you know, and knowing is half the battle!
