Victory at Bangkusay

Miguel López de Legazpi was searching for a suitable place to establish the Spanish colonial capital after being forced to leave first Cebu and then Iloilo by Portuguese pirates. In 1570, Martin de Goiti and Captain Juan de Salcedo, with food stocks diminishing, discovered a sultanate on Suvarnadvipa and saw its potential. De Goiti anchored at Cavite, and tried to establish his authority peaceably by sending a message of friendship to Maynila. Rajah Sulayman, its ruler, was willing to accept the friendship that the Spaniards were offering, but did not want to submit to its sovereignty. Thus, Sulayman declared war. As a result, De Goiti and his army attacked Maynila on June 1570. After a stout fight, Sulayman and his men were forced to flee uphill. After the Spaniards had left, the natives returned.

In 1571, the Spaniards returned with their entire force consisting of 280 Spaniards and 600 native allies, this time led by Legazpi himself. Seeing the Spanish approaching, the natives set the city on fire and fled to the Kingdom of Tondo. The Spaniards occupied the ruins of Maynila and established a settlement there. On May 19, 1571, Legaspi gave the title city to the colony of Manila. The title was certified on June 19, 1572.

A chieftain of the Macabebe tribe, later identified as Tarik Sulayman, refused to submit to the Spaniards and, after failing to gain the support of the chieftains of Manila (Lakandula, Matanda) and Hagonoy, Bulacan, gathered a force composed of warriors from the Manila Bay].

On June 3, 1571, Tarik Sulayman, supported by Rajah Sulayman, led his troops down the Pampanga River and fought the battle in the bay of Bangkusay, off the port of Tondo.

The Spanish ships, led by Martin de Goiti, were ordered to be fastened two-by-two which created a solid mass formation which seemed to be an easy target, however, someone on the boat was smart to be able to know the strategy of the Spanish and knew that it was a trick, he was an unknown hero because he told that the Spanish have a plan and decided that they should retreat for a while because they would be defeated if they try to attack sooner.

The Spanish were fooled and scattered and then later the troops led by Tarik Sulayman attacked the Spanish annihilating them and the survivors were frightened and one of the casualties were Martin de Goiti.

For Rajah Sulayman and Tarik Sulayman, their troops would converge and go to Tondo to war with Lakandula, the Traitor, who claims that he is the rightful King of the Tagalogs, but he himself is a traitor and sold the land to the Spanish, Lakandula summoned his troops but he was overwhelmed by the forces of Sulayman and was defeated Lakandula and declared Sulayman as the only King of the Tagalogs, Rajah Sulayman and his troops attacked and later set fire at Manila.

Miguel López de Legazpi was forced to give up trying and left for cebu, for Sulayman, he will be start reigning as the King of Tagalogs and gain the title of Lakan and tried to forge reconciliation between the Lowland and Upland people of Suvarnadvipa.

Expulsion of the Spanish

After the defeat of Lakandula, Lakan Sulayman II of the Tagalogs reorganized and made trade relationships with Japan and China and for that reason, he wanted to make an attack against the Spanish and for this time, he will plain an attack against the spanish settlement in Cebu as a revenge for their allegiance to the Spanish.

Emperor Michihito of Nippon(Emperor Ogimachi) have heard about the dangerous foreigners who have been conquering countries from the courtiers and the people close to him including Oda Nobunaga, one of the great Daimyos in Japan, they think that they could be the next victim of these foreigners and that they have been converting people.

The Japanese came in and supported the plans of Sulayman evicting the spanish from the archipelago completely and the Sultan of Sulu joined the plan to evict the Spanish from the archipelago completely.

Troops from the subordinates of Lakan Sulayman II led by his general Tarik Soliman with the Japanese soldiers sent by Emperor Michihito and Nobunaga were sent to crush the Spanish colony in Cebu.

The troops led by Tarik Sulayman met with the troops of Legaspi of Sugbu and Legaspi heard of the news of the troops from Tarik Sulayman arriving in Cebu and was joined by Mercenaries of Cebu who hated the spanish colonial system.

The troops stormed the City of Cebu and fought against the troops of Legaspi who were defeated by sheer number and for that reason, Legaspi’s troops were annihilated and Legaspi died in action.

The remaining Spanish in the former Spanish East Indies completely left Cebu in 1580 to Guam after realizing that the people were against them.

Note:
The language of Bulacan before the Spanish invasion will be the base of Linguafranca of the people of Luzon as Tagalog rather than the language of Batangas, Kumintang, this language is closer to the OTL Language Kapampangan and Pangasinan/Kaboloan.

Limahong and the Chinese

Limahong, a pirate made some trouble in the northern part of Suvarnadvipa which was heard by Sulayman II, Sulayman offered Limahong land after being exiled from china, Sulayman gave Limahong Land.

But for Sulayman II, he will only give land to Limahong in one condition and that is if he submits to Sulayman as a vassal, Sulayman II gave Limahong the Coastal part of the Kumintang Kingdom and the Island of Minolo as a fief.

Cebu and the other parts of Visayas ended up in anarchy now that the Spanish have been vanquished and the Sulu took advantage and the raids worsened.

Emperor Michihito gave one of his relatives a bride for Sulayman II who landed at Aparri where they met, the bride was said to be beautiful and Sulayman II married her instantly, in the same time another bride was given to him as well, an Iranun(Mindanaoan) Princess was married to him as well.

The two brides turned out well for him and he liked their company.

Sulayman II heard that the people from the environs of Bigan are very good so he would appoint them to work in his court and their language would heavily influence the language of the court and the capital region, in the environs of Tondo.

Philip II and Portugal
Philip II heard about the failed attempt at founding a colony in South East Asia, now he is very paranoid and wanted to gain the colonies of Portugal.

On 1578, when Sebastian I of Portugal gone to the ship to start a war against the moors in Maghreb, the ship met an accident and the ship where Sebastian was docked fell into the ocean and Sebastian was never to be found, it was said that it was the fault of Philip II of Spain but one cannot pinpoint him as the culprit.

Sebastian I was replaced by his uncle Henry, the Bishop King but he had an accident at food poisoning before he can be crowned.

Philip II forced the Portuguese Cortes to accept him as the King of Portugal but the cortes of Portugal have the condition that Portugal would not be annexed to Spain but Philip II made a sweeter deal and that is to have Lisbon as the new capital of Spain.
