Note: this is actually yet another brainstorming thread for my own TL's development, but I am confident the issue keeps enough interest for a general discussion.

Now, let's assume that Greater Germany and Italy unify more or less simultaneously, sometime between 1815 and 1848. Let's also assume that because of this, German industrialization is as awesome as OTL, only magnified by the inclusion of Austria and Bohemia-Moravia and accelerated by the unification, while the Italian OTL 20th century industrialization is anticipated by one century.

How this would change Victorian-Age European colonization, with four European great powers (Britain, France, Germany, and Italy) starting the 19th century colonial race on a much more equal footing than OTL ?

In order to keep this relevant for my TL, assume that the New World is strictly off-limits, since a super-strong Ameriwank USA is gradually uniting the New World under its flag and beating away any other competitor.
