Victoria; An Empire Under the Sun

To Highlander: Why not get both at once? There's a six game strategy pack which includes EUII, Victoria, Hearts of Iron and others all for only one easy payment of 19.99 at Electronics Boutique. If you can get it used like I did, it will only cost you $9.99.

you might want to stay away from loading EU the Asian chapters as it seems to be very buggy and could cause probs with regular EUII, but 4 of the 5 are interesting games I've never tried HOI but it is not highly thought of on the Paradox forums HOI 2 was mych better recieved.
Read the forums about the games,it will give you insights on stratagy and will help with any glitches you might run into.

How do you guys cope with manpower problems in Victoria? It seems like I'm almost always at either 0 or negative something (and I'm playing as the United States of America too).

You have to go into the province's population screen and convert excess laborers or farmers to soldiers and the higher the defense budget the better.

Yes, and a high defense budget also helps prestige.

Normally, I turn states with very little economic value (like when I have too much grain, the grain farmers are conscripted.) into garrison states, when playing as the US.

Oh, and if you can afford it, pay for the public healthcare. It helps pop growth greatly, and increases immigration.

How can you tell?
It just says over 1000 when you get that much.

The Brits loaded up Canada with hundreds of thousands of men so I mobilized and struck first and swept them from the continent. I didn't like the Liberate Canada opitions though. It was liberate a single Canadian state, or an Onatario and Quebecios state. So I nevilled the British the day before the event fired and kept Ontario and freed Quebec. I was a little more generous then the event though.

I just started a converted EUII game. Playing the United States with an 1836 population of 195 million people has been ... interesting, to say the least.

:D The converters so flawed.

I think my population has only just passed 100 million and I rule 3/4ths of North America.

Has anyone allowed the CSA to separate as only the one state? Can anyone better at telling events see if it eventually rejoins the Union or if there is a cutoff date for the others to join secession.

When I rented it I let the CSA break away but then I invaded and smashed them, totally killing all hope to ever be a decent nation-state again. Then I refused to annex them.

Over the decades they were forced to loan from the US, by 2000 they are litterally puppets.:D

One time I notepadded where the CSA rises with the National Socialist people in power... Instead of lee I have rommel

Now I want to get this game (Victoria)....
Don't get it now... atleast wait for the expansion pack, which will more than likely be standalone, so it will include everything Vicky has and then some.

It is not a stand alone I have said that several times in this thread.

Where did you get the information from? Their press release stated that it will be released online only, I don't think it stated whether it would be stand alone or not.

Had to go look in the Paradox Victoria forum had a hard time finding a post where the head designer Johan talked about this subject, the Revolutions expansion will sell for $ 9.99 it requires you to aready own Victoria.
