Verhandlungsfrieden - Europe in 1960

If it ends in a draw, why does the Soviet Union lose territory it recaptured in OTL?

It ends in a draw on the Western front. I wans'nt very clear about that, but that's the general idea.

I'm still hazy on how exactly that effects the Russian Civil War. The German Empire would most likely try to through their weight behind white troups but how much they can aford right after the war and how succesful those efforts would be... ?

The War should end in 1918 without America. There is just no way it could last into 1920. Just impossible.

The idea was that an armistice is signed in the fall fo 1919. From there it takes until spring 1920 to come to an agreement but at.

Maybe that's still to long. How about: Germay starts signaling they're willing to talk in early fall 1918. So basically once it becomes clear tghat peace on the eastern front doesn't actually help that much with winning in the west. At this point Britain is kinda on the fence but probably willing to talk. France on the other hand still wants a win against Germany though war fatigue has worn down morale considerably. It takes another devestating winter and near famine for everyone to agree to come the table. So an armistice is agreed on in january or febuary and a treaty is signed a few months later.

That way the war would only last about three months longer then OTL.

The War HAVE to end in 1918. There is just no way it could last any longer. Without the USA, the Entente will run out of money, and they won't have all the men and gear the USA gave them to keep them going.

Without the USA coming to save the day, the Germans now has the time to carry out all they 1917-1918 offensives when they are good and ready, and be far more successful. Even war winning.

Without the Americans and the unlimited resources manpower & material that came with the USA, the Allies would be completely falling apart in the faces of the German Empire. Without the American Forces, key bridges and roads would be lost and taken by the Germans and we see an massive German Breakthroughs like on the Eastern Front.

This is an interesting scenario and a very nice map. However, I'd like to offer some suggestions.

About Ukraine, Ukraine's IOLT Gov't would a German supported Dictatorship, the Hetmanate of Pablo Skoropadsky, however, with the war going on longer it is reasonable to expect a few things, one of them, expansion, the Kuban Peninsula, Crimea, and at least part of Bukovina. The Kuban tried to join Ukraine IOTL in 1918 and Crimea did, along with the Black Sea Fleet which was at the time majority Ukrainian. Tsarist Crimea would be unsustainable because they'd be surrounded by a hostile Ukraine and Turkey (across the sea controlling trade and access). Bukovina being independent is kind of odd. Germans could be respected in Romania because they've got a Hohenzollern King. The northern part would likely go to Ukraine since in 1918 they did try and join the ZUNR IOTL.

It would be interesting to see how Ukraine interacts with the world with no truly dominant blocs in central or eastern Europe and to see if Ukraine becomes a regional power trying to create an anti-Bolshevik intermarium with Belarus and the Baltic States, excluding Poland, obviously since they'd be mad about Galicia.

If you need any help on Ukraine info or background I've got some nice books and would be happy to grab some quotes or maps if you need any help.

This is a super interesting scenario and I really like your map.

A scenario were we can have a stalemate in the west it's a failure at Caporetto, the offensive instead of the smashing success it's a fitz and this also mean that the Anglo-French don't stop their offensive to help the italians having more success in taking the port used by the U-Boat. Nevertheless the USA don't enter the war and this mean that the Entente don't have so many men and resources like OTL (but the better situation in the field helps compensate), the war still drag on but frankly neither side can go on for more than a couple of months past 1918.
Said that, in this situation both France and Italy need to get some aquisition in Europe (Italy at least when A-H implode9

No chance of Prince Wilhelm getting into power?

He was extremely popular by 1918. In fact, the Germans explicitly said he could not enter Kyiv because if he did it was assured that the city would rise to replace Skoropadsky with him. He was recalled in 1918, and sidelined in 1919 due to health issues. However, if you ask me, it is well within the realm of plausibility that he would eventually take power. Skoropadsky wanted to build a large army but was deeply unpopular even within that army. If he wanted to better secure his power he could have been a PM or Chancellor, with Vasyl as King since historically Vasyl wasn't a micromanaging kind of guy to say the least.
