Vatsetis assassinated, Lenin falls (July 1918)

On the night of 6th/7th July 1918, Vatsetis is summoned by Lenin to the Kremlin. Civil war rages in Moscow and the Left Socialist Revolutionaries are on the brink of turning the tide in their favour. Lenin is so worried, he intends to ask Vatsetis one simple question - can they survive the next day?

So, what if Vatsetis is assassinated on his way to this meeting? Without their commander the Letts are going to be disorganised. If things are as bad as Lenin thought they were, can the LSRs seize Moscow? Can they seize Lenin's person? Would they have any alternative but to kill him quickly?

I don't know anything about this particular incident but I have in the last 2-3 years been intrigued about what an SR run Russia led by Chernov be like so if that's where you're going you have my blessing.

OK I do know that the SR was a big tent and its Left wing was badly divided about the Bolsheviks with some of them joining the Bolsheviks. This means there may be some reluctant to immediately shoot (OTOH the person who did shoot Lenin in OTL was a SR) but even then they would using him as a bargaining chip.
