Valentinianus III inherits the East in 450

In 450 emperor Theodosius II died without a male heir. His empire would be inherited by Marcianus who would later marry Theodosius’s sister Pulcheria, marking the end of the Theodosians in the East. Let’s say that things go differently: Pulcheria refuses the marriage and the empire goes to Theodosius’s cousin and son-in-law Valentinianus III. The most powerful man in the East, Aspar, struck a deal with Ravenna where either he marries Valentianus’s sister Honoria or one of his sons marries Eudocia (Placidia is already betrohed to Aetius’s son Gaudentius). Now we have a unified empire under Valentinianus III, two powerful Magister Militum (both related now to the imperial family) who are probably going to clash against each other, while Attila is still out there ready to exploit every sign of weakness from the empire. What’s going to happen from now on to the empire and to people like Aetius, Aspar, Marcianus, Maiorianus, Ricimer and Attila? What about the alt-council of Chalcedon and the invasion of Gaul (if they still happen)?
