USSR w/o WWII?

How is the British homeland in threat of invasion when the Allies win in France in 1940? Once Narvik is held they can base aircraft on the ground.

Even without a threat to the British Isles, the reality is, Germany still has the central position in Norway. Best case scenario for the British is Gallipoli 2.0. Churchill might love that idea, but his Chiefs of Staff sure as hell won't.

RAF airfields are far closer to Narvik than the German ones are further south. Churchill gets his way even when the general staff wants something else, look at Crete and Greece.
