Sorry, but this happens to be pretty unlikely. In a nuclear world, this kind of big war's obsolete. Even if the democracies magically didn't have air and sea superiority (unlikely because our gummint type innovates better, and our geography favors good navies alot better than the Soviets'), the Soviet Union would've known that, unlike in Red Dawn, they would've been nuked in response, and seen their invasion be sunk and/or stopped quickly from the air; carriers could never've carried enough planes to begin to match ground airfields; so, even if the USSR did have more planes overall, it wouldn't matter.
Blue Max, nuclear primacy isn't enough. Even if they had more missiles to fire at us, by '89, we'd still have enough to bounce Soviet rubble as well and nuke naval and invasion task forces and and gathered invasion forces.
