USCA

So, while playing Victoria, and I came across this little mentioned nation! Could the USCA have surived, or was it doomed to collapse? If it could survive, would it have prospered at the middle station between the two seas as it's founding fathers had hoped, or would it have been relativley poor like it's successor states?

Well, I've never seen "USCA" before, I think it's usually called "UPCA" (united provinces of) or "FRCA" (Federal Republic of).

In my TL, a Nicaraguan canal is being built early with British funds (RR before 1840, canal slated for completion ~1850), and the promise of shared wealth is going to help keep the country together. (They know that if things go pearshaped politically that the UK will just set up a Canal Zone equivalent, and no-one local will profit.)

I think you need SOMETHING specific to keep them together, or the individual parts will fission off as OTL. Of course, Mexico being more hostile might also help...

Ah my bad on the name, I was under the (rather foolish) assumption that they were the United States of Central America, not the United Provinces of Central America! How wealthy do you think it could have grown had it survived?
