US victory in Vietnam 1970?

A much more aggressive LBJ bombing near the Chinese border? defeating the NVA and Vietcong.

How would this influence the world? US Society?

How does the premise follow from the course of action described? Defeat in Vietnam was political and I don't think any purely military action that was a realistic options under the constraints of the Cold war would have offered victory. Bear in mind, the air raids hurt North Vietnam badly, but Washington had no way of verifying that. They had a very skewed idea of the effectiveness of various strategy, and almost no viable intelligence. How would they know they could win, and how that they had? I doubt Hanoi would openly admit it, and there really isn't much better than the OTL settlement in the cards at the conference unless internal unrest topples the enemy. Which I *really* don't see after the millions of dollars the USA just invested in shoring up the credibility of the Communist regime.
